Wednesday, March 30

WildGarden Wunderkammer Workshop
A dissident and playful appropriation and reinvention of the Cabinet of Curiosities first seen in 16th century Europe. Join this collective art-making activity during the festival and have your artwork added to the growing exhibit. (Drop by anytime between 11:00-3:00 on Wednesday and Thursday, FES Lounge)

Wake Up Schools (17m) by Elli Weisbaum
Wake up Schools is a global initiative to cultivate mindfulness in education, initiated by Thich Nhat Hanh. Q&A with the filmmaker to follow. (Wed, March 30, 11:00-11:30, HNES 138)

Creative Writing and Relationship to Space
This workshop uses creative writing to explore our relationships to the spaces we move through. Using writing prompts, optional sharing, and discussion this workshop is an opporunity to think about space and develop our writing. All writers welcome, from absolute beginners to established writers. Clementine Morrigan (12:30 – 2:00, HNES 143)

Podcasting
A workshop to introduce the basics of podcasting in which we will also do some podcast production. Andrew Winchur & chris Cavanagh (1:00-3:00 HNES 102)

The Retro Electric Musicking and Community Experiment #7 A workshop on participatory musicking to build community. The approach is experimental, improvisational, trippy and fun. Mark Reece et al. (2:30 – 4:00, HNES 268)

Craftivist Lab Workshop

Making Contact: Neuro-Eco Ed Art Workshop Series

Scavenging for Pinhole Cameras
Who and what can take a photo? Come explore the many ways in which even a pine nut can capture the moment. Be prepared for messiness and enjoy the process of trial-and-error Kelly Lui (12:30 – 2:00, HNES 109)

Comics and Social Justice
Draw characters and stories to learn about social justice. This is a participatory workshop that will look at how drawing narratives can enable collaborative exploration of social justice issues. No drawing experience necessary. Martha Newbigging (1:00 – 3:00, HNES 143)

EcoArts Media Festival Cabaret
A free evening of performances by members of the FES Community. (Tranzac Club, 292 Brunswick Ave., doors open 6:30, performances from 7:30)
